APAAC Training Calendar Art Contest!

ABOUT THE CONTEST

The APAAC Training Calendar has become the go-to source to showcase the artistic talent of our prosecution community while keeping tabs on upcoming APAAC seminars.

 

Artists submitting work for consideration must be employed by an Arizona Prosecution Office. Entries for the 2026-2027 APAAC Training Calendar are due by 5:00 p.m. MST on Friday, January 30, 2026. 

 

If your work is chosen, you will be notified by Friday, February 6, 2026. All winning entries will be showcased in our 2026–2027 Training Calendar and APAAC will waive your registration fee if you are attending our 2026 APAAC Annual Prosecutor Conference! The calendar, complete with your work, will be distributed to all conference attendees!

COMPETITION RULES

  1. Submissions will be accepted beginning Tuesday, October 22, 2025, and must be received by 5:00 p.m. (MST) on Friday, January 30, 2026.  Winners will be notified by Friday, February 6, 2026, and their Work will be published in the 2026-2027 APAAC training calendar.
  2. Artists submitting work for consideration must be employed by an Arizona prosecution office.
  3. Submissions will NOT be accepted from APAAC Council Members or APAAC staff.
  4. Artists may enter more than one work (“Work”).
  5. “Legal” subject matter is not required.
  6. Artists retain the copyright in their own Work. By entering the competition, however, Artists grant to APAAC a license for first North American publication in print, and for publication on the APAAC Publication in either medium is in the sole discretion of APAAC.
  7. By submitting, the Artist warrants and represents that the Work: (a) is the Artist’s original work, (b) has not been previously published, (c) has not received any previous awards, (d) does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, and that the content is within the bounds of the fair use doctrine. The Artist further warrants that: (a) he or she has obtained permission from any person whose name, likeness or voice is used in the Work; and (b) publication of the Work via various media, including on the Web, will not infringe on any third-party rights. The Artist indemnifies and holds harmless APAAC from any claims to the contrary, or from loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Work and the competition.
  8. The competition is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and the Artist consents to its exclusive jurisdiction for any causes or controversies arising in relation to this competition.
  9. APAAC is not responsible for any technical malfunction or service outage related to the competition.
  10. APAAC Council Members and staff may not assist Artists in selecting Work for submission to the competition. Submissions are reviewed by APAAC staff, and their decision is final. In its sole discretion, APAAC reserves the right not to accept any submission or award a prize.
  11. Submissions will not be returned.
  12. In the Sculpture category, it is advised that multiple photo views are helpful. In addition, the Artist should describe the scale of the Work.
  13. In Photography submissions, the Artist must explain any post-shooting manipulation done to the Work via computer software (e.g., Photoshop).
  14. Photos must be high-resolution quality (300 pixels per inch).
