This award is designed to recognize an outstanding Arizona Misdemeanor Appellate Prosecutor (or a two-prosecutor team that were co-counsel for a case) whose work has significantly contributed to the mission of serving victims and seeking justice. This award could be given for one specific misdemeanor appellate case or for a series of outstanding misdemeanor prosecutorial accomplishments in the past year.

Seth Peterson is a Senior Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office Prosecution Division responsible for the offices’ appellate department. He has served as a prosecutor for nearly twenty-four years with more than eighteen years at the City of Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office Prosecution Division. The majority of Seth’s prosecution career has focused on motions and appellate litigation. Seth has vast experience litigating hundreds of appeals in the State appellate courts on a wide range of legal issues. Not only is Seth a valuable resource for prosecutors in Scottsdale, he serves as a resource to prosecutors statewide. Seth has provided motions and appellate support on numerous occasions to prosecutors across the State. Additionally, Seth is a fixture at APAAC DUI conferences where he provides valuable trainings on a range of DUI related topics.

Ken Flint is an accomplished municipal appellate prosecutor for the City of Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office Prosecution Division, serving in that role for more than twenty years. Ken has litigated thousands of motions and hundreds of appeals in the Maricopa County Superior Court, Arizona Court of Appeals (Division One), and Arizona Supreme Court. Ken is not only a valuable resource for the City of Scottsdale but also for prosecutors throughout the State who regularly reach out to Ken for assistance with complex appellate issues, including requests for amicus briefs.
