Navigating The Landscape of Adult Sexual Assault

This three-day training focuses on the investigation and prosecution of adult sexual assault and is designed for law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim advocates. A national multi-disciplinary faculty will present on the following topics: 

• An Understanding of the Neurobiology of Trauma 
• The Importance of Advocacy: A Victim-Centered Response 
• Trauma-Informed Interviewing 
• Working with Vulnerable & Marginalized Populations 
• Empathy-Based Interrogation of Suspects 
• Corroborating the Case: Proving Lack of Consent 
• Unique Challenges of Alcohol-Facilitated Sexual Assault 
• Report Writing Through a Trauma Lens 
• Trial Strategies & Tactics 

Hotel rooms will be provided to attendees traveling from outside of Maricopa County who request a room when registering. Attendees traveling from outside of Maricopa County are eligible for reimbursement of meals at State Government per diem rates and mileage at 25 cents per mile.
