Back by popular demand, APAAC and GOHS are hosting the Prosecuting the Drug-Impaired Driver Conference, on March 18-21, 2024.
Drug-impaired driving cases can be some of the most interesting and challenging cases we face. Depending on the substance, drug impairment can look very different than alcohol impairment.
The Prosecuting the Drug-Impaired Driver Conference is designed to assist prosecutors in evaluating and prosecuting these unique cases. Experienced DRE officer instructors, prosecutors and crime lab personnel will educate on how to recognize the unique symptoms of impairment for the various drug categories, as well as impairment by multiple drugs. Instruction on how to prepare and present these cases in court will be provided. Agenda topics will include, but are not limited to:

Hotel rooms will be provided to attendees traveling from outside of Pima County who request a room when registering. Attendees traveling from outside of Pima County are eligible for reimbursement of meals not provided by APAAC at State Government per diem rates and mileage at 62.5 cents per mile.

The Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety has awarded APAAC grant funds to conduct Drugged Driving training during the federal fiscal year 2024.
