Tackling human trafficking requires a team effort. This one-day conference is designed to bring together a multi-disciplinary audience of prosecutors, law enforcement, victim advocates and service providers and will focus on the investigation of both labor and sex trafficking cases. Through the utilization of case studies, attendees will learn innovative approaches to identify, gather evidence, and hold offenders accountable.

Richard Hoffman
Criminal Investigator
Johnston County District Attorney's Office, North Carolina
Rick Hoffman works in the Johnston County District Attorney’s Office (North Carolina) as a criminal investigator. In his current position, he assists law enforcement agencies identify and collect evidence to strengthen criminal prosecutions. He works closely with prosecutors to evaluate cases and source additional admissible evidence. Mr. Hoffman has 28 years of experience having retired for the Raleigh Police Department where he served as the Detective Division Commander. He is passionate about training and has partnered with academic researchers, non-governmental organizations, prosecutors, and technology companies to develop training that reflects the reality of conducting a criminal investigation from tip to trial. Mr. Hoffman has experience providing technical and training assistance to local, state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies around the country.
 Please note: APAAC has a limited number of travel scholarships for reimbursement to attendees from outside Maricopa County to cover travel costs, including roundtrip mileage and meals not provided by APAAC. You will have the opportunity to apply for a travel scholarship during the online registration for this conference. During the online registration, you may also request hotel accommodations, which APAAC will provide only at the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Midtown (conference venue). APAAC will not reimburse for costs associated with hotel accommodations that were not made through APAAC.
