Back by popular demand, APAAC and GOHS are hosting the Prosecuting the Drug-Impaired Driver Conference, February 28 – March 3, 2022.
Prosecuting the drug-impaired driver can be some of the most interesting and challenging impaired driving cases we face. Depending on the substance, drug impairment can look very different than alcohol impairment. Accordingly, if a DUI prosecutor does not know what to look for and how to explain it to a jury, the task of prosecuting these cases can be much more difficult than it should be.
The Prosecuting the Drug-Impaired Driver Conference is designed to assist prosecutors in evaluating and prosecuting these unique cases. Experienced DRE officer instructors, prosecutors and crime lab personnel will educate on how to recognize the unique symptoms of impairment for the various drug categories, as well as impairment by multiple drugs. Instruction on how to prepare and present these cases in court will be provided. Agenda topics will include, but are not limited to:

APAAC Office Members traveling from outside Maricopa County are eligible for reimbursement of meals at State Government per diem rates, and mileage at 25 cents per mile. Hotel accommodations will be provided if requested during the registration process. |
